The International Space Station over Oyster Bay
The International Space Station zooms through Scorpius above Oyster Bay in this wonderful image sent in by correspondent Andrea Deegan (click to embiggen, its worth it, note the image is copyright Andrea Deegan, so ask permission if you want to use it).
Andrea aligns the camera tripod by placing a compass on the ground and aligning that to the predicted direction the ISS will rise in. Simple but effective, as this shot surely attests.
