It's Winter Solsitice Here In Australia

I am in Rockhampton on the tropic of capricorn and it is clear and cool. I have a question, there is a planet (I think) that rises in the evening at around 39 degrees NE - I can't find it on any charts and it is well to the north of the other planets and moon traverse across the sky - any suggestions?
