MESSENGER Orbits Mercury on 18 March
After 7 years of journeying, the MESSENGER spacecraft will enter into orbit around Mercury on Friday March 18, at 12:45 a.m. UTC, that's between 8 am and 12 pm in Australia depending on your time zone (around 12 pm in the Eastern states), I presume the encounter will be on NASA TV, you can read more about the orbital insertion at NASA science news.

I can't wait until I can point at yet ANOTHER planet and say "there's a space probe there". It's a pity my lifelong friend doesn't still work at Tidbinbilla.
