Obscured by Clouds. The rough and ready blog of a cloud benighted biologist and amateur astronomer. Astroblog will cover my interests in astronomy, biology and Life, the Universe and Everything.
|Mercury close to the thin crescent Moon and the star Regulus on August 1, 2011. Seen from Suburban Adelaide.|
The top right image is early in the evening, when the earth-shine is faint, and Mercury just visible, but the thinness of the crescent obvious. In the Left image Regulus and the Moon are just about to go behind the rooftops, with nice cloud patterns. In the Bottom right the trio glow above the ocean.
