Start Looking for Comet 2P/Encke Tonight!
Overlay showing the pasth of Comet 2P/Encke between the 17th and 20th of August, 2010. The veiw is at 18:41 local (Australian) time. The stars change position as well, setting earlier each successive night.Tonight (17th) and the 18th, 19th and 20th of August Comet Encke is within a binocular field of Mercury, being closest on the 19th. You will need binoculars and a clear horizon to see it, but it should be worth the effort.

Cool, but if his magnitude is correct (7.7) it will be dashed hard to see the comet in binoculars.
