Morning Saturn and Venus

View of the north-eastern horizon at 6:10 am 27 August, ACST as seen from Adelaide (click to enlarge). Similar views will be seen elswhere in the Southern Hemisphere.

This Sunday morning, Saturn and Venus will be so close as to almost seem to be touching. Unforntunately they are very close to the horizon, so you will need a flat horizon free of obstructions to see them clearly. Nonetheless this is a pretty rare close approach for the two, so do make an effort to see it.
