The space walk by astronaut Dr Steve Robinson to remove two protruding pieces of gap filler was successful
. All he did was reach out and gently remove the pieces by hand. There was significant anxiety about this spacewalk as Dr. Robinson was out of direct view of observers, working close to the fragile heat shield tiles. Most of NASA's concerns
over the safety of the shuttle have been allayed by the successful space walk. Full coverage of the spacewalk is over at NASA's "Return to Flight"
