The International Space Station, 31 July 2012

The International Space Station cruises below Crux, while a plane flies off to the bottom left.

After a long period where we couldn't see the ISS from Adelaide, it has now returned to the evening skies.

Below is an animation I made with 20 x 4 second shots. Would have been better if I had remembered the "autoshoot" feature takes 30 seconds to fire up.

In the original AVI, you can see a second satellite following the ISS in the final frames.

I use http://www.heavens-above.com/ and http://www.calsky.com/.

There is a heavens above Android smart phone app which I use all the time when photographing these things, and one from spaceweather http://simpleflybys.com/ for iPhone and Android
